Leading the frontend development of a data-intensive dashboard for fleet managers. Took ownership of the React and TypeScript codebase, working closely with backend and DevOps. Implemented GraphQL data flows using Apollo and managed global state with Zustand. Focused on delivering a seamless user experience, performance optimization and code maintainability.
Started as a backend developer working on Python services powering a data-intensive dashboard for fleet managers. Built and maintained APIs, worked on Odoo modules and customizations.
Developed and maintained multiple React applications for both public and government clients. Worked extensively with TypeScript, SCSS, and design systems, applying BEM and Atomic Design principles. Contributed to projects such as Het Archief (educational media platform) and HookUp (City of Antwerp), integrating existing component libraries. Actively participated in code reviews, improved code quality through testing, and helped shape frontend architecture decisions.
Worked on a large-scale e-commerce platform as my first production React project. Focused on building reusable UI components, applying clean code and DRY principles, and gradually taking ownership of features. Collaborated closely with backend, design, and product to deliver user-facing improvements in a complex domain.
An ESP32-based desk display (Tenstar T-Display) built to show local weather data, fetched from a weather API via HTTPClient and ArduinoJson. Built on a full Arduino/ESP32 development workflow set up in Neovim using arduino-cli and Overseer.
A self-hosted homelab running on an HP ProDesk (Ubuntu 24.04) and a Raspberry Pi 3B+, running a range of self-hosted apps via Docker, including network-wide ad blocking, reverse proxying, uptime monitoring, and a dashboard tying everything together.
Wrote some scripts to translate labels and other content, from English to Dutch and French using the Deepl API. The scripts read the source content from the en.json, send it to the Deepl API for translation, and then write the translated content back to the NL and FR JSON files. This automated process significantly speeds up localization efforts for applications supporting multiple languages.
A little photobooth project using a Raspberry Pi. I put it in the kitchen of our cohousing where we could take photos with our friends and rewatch them on a website that was only available on our WiFi network. Changes in the repo are updated automatically on the raspberry when restarting the device.
Swipe and match with your favourite doggo! Mainly built to practice React Native and figuring out the swiping motion.
I'm a developer with 5+ years of professional experience, and I spend just as much time building my own projects — like my homelab, an ESP32 weather station, or this very website.
I like solving real problems and automating the boring stuff — if I have to do something twice, the code's doing it the third time.
I also like wakeboarding and chess, both need thinking a few steps ahead.
